Upcycled Shoe Strings Brooch Tutorial

Friday is fun for new tutorial, don't you think?
So I will give you something cute but maybe a bit complicated step but I want you to live a DIY life a bit. Lol.
I make jewellery and accessories and a little piece of art based on my DIY exploration this far. So, I think, it's nice to share that DIY experience with my readers :)

What you will make is this plaited brooch.

What you need:
Your old show strings (Pick three colour you think is the best)

I add tulle, few little flowers, and vintage button, that big bead didn't go with my brooch
You need a round-shape felt
Glue Gun

And of course, needle & thread, and pin

What you do:
Tie a knot as the first step

Make plait until the end of your shoe strings

Let it loose, do not knot it

PREPARE YOUR GLUE GUN
Start with your loose shoe string. Be careful in attaching your plaited shoe string to that round-shape

Continue until the last of your plaited shoe string with closing knot
Tie your tulle

I added three little flowers here (I hot-glued them)

Last step is to sew your pin on the back of  your felt.
NOTE: YOU CAN DO IT BEFORE YOU GLUE YOUR PLAITED SHOE STRINGS.

Voila!
Your new brooch is ready to wear! (I cut the end of my shoe strings so they have sharp end as pictured)
You can attach it on your bag, or your t-shirt, everywhere!
You can also glue a hair clip with pad if you'd like to wear it as a hair accessories.

Have fun~!

Oh, here's my latest creation with Mimi (my sewing machine's name)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
